Part of the afternoon was spent cleaning up, emptying planters, washing them out and bringing them in for the winter. The leaves were swept up and put where their decomposing would benefit the garden instead of the road and sidewalks. This time of year, I find it difficult to adjust to the cold but being out in the garden and doing this work feels so satisfying and it's so much easier to ignore my cold hands.
The girls hung out watching me as well as the sparrows.
I love raking leaves and walking through them. The carpet of leaves everywhere just makes me want to jump in them.
