Northern Elements

The early morning found me with a pencil and scrap paper and the idea of pine cones, trees and northern elements. I thought it might be interesting to stylize these images; try to make them look like many different things that are associated with the North. The wind, the haunting silence, the dead leaves on the forest floor, the distant call of an owl, the cold air and  distant mountains.

There is a lot of "playing" about in the process of a new design, there is a lot of searching for just the right combination of shape and tone.

My youngest is off to the mountains for the summer. 

She will be amazed.
