Fare Well
I have "disappeared" for a week,
for seven days;
a time of significance
a time of unbearable reality
and a time of repair

My dad often quoted Robert Service. For me, now, the words take on new meaning:

Let us probe the silent places
Let us seek what luck betides us
Let us journey to a lonely land I know.
There's a whisper on the night wind
There's a star a-gleam to guide us
And the wild is calling, calling...
let us go

My dad often joked about "waiting for his ship to come in". The image above was a card I had hoped to give him. The symbolism is hard to escape.
