An unexpected opportunity to see some old letters from an uncle I never met but who was my Dad's best friend and my Mom's older brother. To me it is stepping back into a time I never knew and a chance to understand events as others saw them. Some of the letters are his and some are written by his brothers and sisters to him. (one brother was 10 years his senior and one sister was only in grade school).
