Currently, at Pilots 'n Paws there is a silent auction to raise money for the rescue of animals. If you visit their site you can read some of the stories of the abandoned, abused or injured animals that have been given a better life. The proceeds from this silent auction go towards the purchases of crates and other supplies to aid in the transportation of these animals as well as food and medical assistance.
It is not always an easy world to be in. We would all like it to be more beautiful and we all try to do our best to make it the best it can be. But it is an on-going effort. I agree that not one person can change the world and that's why it is important for all of us, when we can, to contribute. A rescued animal knows when he/she has been rescued and they are eternally grateful.
