Magnificent Magnolias

Have you seen the Magnolias?

According to my "Complete Book of the Garden", John Bartram (founder of the first botanical garden in America) was responsible for bringing over to North America the first azaleas rhododendrons and magnolias. The one seen here is a Magnolia grandiflora, Bull Bay, southern Magnolia. It can grow up to 80ft. And has very large, white and fragrant flowers.
