The Apple Tree

Over the weekend our neighbour took down the apple tree. I think I was the only one who liked it despite the overwhelming crop of apples that would fall and rot, half-eaten by squirrels and birds in the fall. I will miss the blossoms too; they were so fragrant and reminded me of Van Gogh. But the neighbours were tired of it and wanted more sun in their back yard so down it came.

  1. always sad when another tree comes down. It would be rare for your neighbourhood creatures to find food as real as apples. Maybe a little tree is in your future.
