Mock Orange Blossoms

Mock Orange
When we moved here (many years ago) one of the bushes growing was a Mock Orange. At the time I had no idea what it was. And as we had moved in in September, it was a number of months before this lovely shrub revealed itself. It has the most wonderful fragrance; pretty much up there with roses.

For the next two weeks we will have the pleasure of this flowering bush's scent.

  1. My mother planted one of these at the foot of her front yard long before I was born. One of the magical scents that flooded the yard and trickled in my upstairs window as a child. I wondered what it would be like to be a bird or an insect, able to swim through an ocean of floating scents. Planted three of these in the backyard at my own home, wondering if neighbourhood children in bed with open windows in the next few weeks will be wondering the same thing. Lovely photo. Enjoy the blooms!
