The drawings in my sketch book usually start off as some sort of muddling about. I rarely start with any particular idea other than the animal. This particular page was from last year's book when I was beginning to work on Squirrels & Rabbits with the possibility of Chickens and Donkeys. The Donkey eventually won out.

And the rabbit, no matter how hard I tried, kept coming out as a Hare. The Squirrel will have his debut later this year, but the Chickens may have to wait...
It is a long weekend here in Ontario as well as British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan: Family Day.
