One July Morning

A couple of days ago I was reading an article on Etsy about museum display in the shops. There are always spin offs when learning something new and sometimes you've heard it a thousand times before, but for some reason you "hear" it for the first time now. The article had mentioned that when people go to the museum they spend a number of hours in a "hands off" environment. As the museum shop is a way for visitors to extend their time at the museum, the shop displays the works of artisans in such a way as to encourage people to touch and pick up the work and look at it more closely and to ask questions. People want to know more about the artist and what inspires them.
In the Etsy shop, there is an about page that more or less allows shop owners to tell their story. Having read the above article I thought I would re-vamp my about page.

  ...I have traveled to many places around the world but my most memorable time was a road trip across Canada with my dad. He had built a "camper" clad in pink aluminium on the back of a 1954 Ford dump truck. And off we went one July morning.

That trip was packed full of adventures that I will never forget. There were many break downs, flat tires and even one evening on a lonely hi-way the motor caught fire! But it didn't matter because we were on the trip of a lifetime and we knew it.

 It was in Yukon and Alaska, our destination, where the mountains are unspeakably stunning that we saw, wild and free, moose, grizzly bears and caribou. It was an incredible experience that, I think, eventually brought about the making of Sparrow Avenue.
