The True North Strong and Free

I am very excited about these two new designs. Not only are they the most involved in composition that I have done so far but they are also printed on a fabric that is new and different from what I have used in the past. It is a faux suede: with a slight texture and a very soft hand.

Both of these new images were purposefully distressed to add to the concept of it being from a by-gone time.

    This is wonderful, Barbara! I've always been fascinated by our caribou and I'm working on a drawing of one myself. I'm looking forward to seeing how you will be using these designs now!

      I first saw Caribou in the wild when I went to Alaska. They are not nearly as large as I once thought. The antlers remind me so much of Inuit sculptures.
      Would love to see your drawings of the Caribou, as your work is so beautifully rendered.

    Thanks Barbara. The drawing has been on the back burner for a few weeks now. Life and work seem to take over quite often and it's hard to find time for artwork.
    I completely agree with the way you describe the antlers!
