A rare picture of when I was in the Yukon. The back of the truck is covered in a thick layer of mud (the license plate is totally obscured) because the Alaska Hi-way back then was still not paved. As well, the road was pot hole ridden and the truck suffered extensive damage.
In Whitehorse, however, there was a wrecker's with a field of broken down vehicles of all makes and years and fortunately there was one that matched our '54 Ford. From that we were able to scavenge a motor mount, repair ours and continue on our way through the Yukon and on to Anchorage and Fairbanks.
On our return, the second motor mount succumbed to the harsh conditions of the road and we found ourselves back at the wrecker's. This picture was taken there.
What a great memento of this adventure.
