Did You Know?

Little puff balls: the sparrows. Did you know that their average life span is only 2 or 3 years? That's so short. And yet, what a harsh life they have especially through the winter. So cold. But something else, I have learned about them: their feet. Wouldn't you think that sub-zero temperatures would severely damage those tiny appendages?
Apparently, there is a system of heat exchange between the  arteries and the veins. It's also the same for swans, for example, standing on iced-over water. Wish my feet had something like that!

Keep warm over the weekend.
Just two more months to Spring!
